 BackStage View in Microsoft Word 2010

 Backstage view was introduced in Microsoft Word 2010 and serves as a central place for managing your documents. Backstage read helps create new documents, save and open documents, print and share, and more. 

Getting backstage view is easy: just click the File tab, located in the higher left corner of the Word Ribbon. If you do not already have an open document, you will see a window with all the recently opened documents as follows:

If you already have an open document it will show a window detailing the open document as shown below. Backstage view displays 3 columns when you choose most of the options available in the initial column.

The first column in the backstage read will have the following options: 

Options                                    Description

Save:-

If an existing document is opened, it'll be saved as such, otherwise it'll show a dialog box asking for the document name.

Save As:-

 A dialog box will be displayed asking for the name of the document and the style of document.             By default this word will be saved with the extension in Word 2010 (.docx)

Open:-

 This option will be to associate degree existing document stored on the pc. 

Close:-

 This option will be used to shut the open document.

Info:- 

This option can display information about the open document. 

Recent:-

This feature will list all recently opened documents. New this feature will be used to open a new            document. 

Print:-

 This feature will be accustomed print an open document.

Save and Send:-

This option will save associate degree open document and show the option to send the document via email etc. 

Help:-

You'll be able to use this option to get the help you wish about Word 2010. choices Use this option to set different choices for the word 2010. 

Exit:-

Use this option to shut and exit the document.

Document Information:-

When you click on the information option out there in the first column, it displays the subsequent information in the second column of the backstage view. Compatibility Mode: If the document isn't a local Word 2007/2010 document, a Convert button seems here, enabling you to easily update its format. Otherwise this category doesn't appear. 

Permission:-

You'll be able to use this option to protect your word document. you {can|you'll|you'll be able to} set a watchword so that nobody can open your document, or you can lock the document so that nobody can edit your document.

Prepare for Sharing:- 

This section highlights necessary information you should know about your document before sending it to others, such as a record of the edits you created when you created the document.

Version:-

 If the document has been saved multiple times, you can access the previous version from this                section.                              

 Document Properties:-

When you click on the information option in the first column, it displays various features in the             third column of the backstage view. These features include the size of the document, the number             of pages in the document, the total number of words in the author of the document, and so on. 

You can also edit different features. Just try clicking on the property value and if the property is editable it will show a text box where you can add your text like title, tags, comments, author.

Exit Backstage View:-        

Getting out of Backstage View is easy. To return to WordWorking mode, either click the File tab or press the Esc key on the keyboard.
