Adjust Page Margins in Microsoft Word 2010
In this chapter, we will talk about how to how to the page margin in Word 2010. The margin is the space between the edge of the paper and the text. you can adjust the right, left, top and bottom margins of your document. By default, Word sets all margins to 1 inch to the left, right, top, and bottom.
I have screenshot below, I have shown the top, left and right margins. If you type the full page, the word will also leave a margin of 1 inch below.
Adjust the Margin:
The following steps will assist you understand how to set margins for an open document.
Step:1 Open the document whose margin needs to be set. If you want the margins to apply only to the selected part of a document, select that particular part.
Step:2 Click the Page Layout tab, and click the Margin button in the Page Setup group. It will show a list of selected options but you have to click on the custom margin option below.
You can select any of the default margins from the list, but using the Custom Margin Option will give you more control over all the settings.
Step :3 You need to display the Page Dialog Box as shown below where you can set up, left, right and bottom margins under the Margins tab. Select the Apply to: option to add a Margin to the selected text or the entire document. Margin Dialog Box
Step :4 If you are going to bind the document and want to add extra space on one side for binding, enter that amount in the Gutter text box, and select the side where the gutter is with the Gutter Position drop. Do List below. After setting all required values for all margins, click the OK button to apply the margins.
