What is Page Orientation in Ms Word

Page Orientation In Microsoft Word 2010

Page orientation is helpful when you print your pages. By default Microsoft Word displays a page in portrait orientation and in this case the page width is less than the page height and the page will be 8.5 inches x 11 inches.

You can change the orientation of the page from portrait to landscape, in which case the page width will be greater than the page height and the page will be 11 inches x 8.5 inches.

Change page Orientation:

The following are simple steps to change the page orientation of a Microsoft Word 2010 document.

Step (1): Open a text document for which you want to change the orientation. By default, the orientation will be portrait orientation as shown below.

Step (2): Click the Page Layout tab, and click the Orientation button in the Page Setup group. This will show an options menu in which both options (portrait and landscape) have to be selected.

Step (3): Click on any of the options you want to set to Orientation. Since my page is already in Portrait Orientation, I will click on the Landscape option to change my acquaintance to Landscape Orientation.
